Engine rebuilder

It seems that the old 250 cu in chev has taken a dump and is in need of a rebuild. Can any one recommend a good rebuilder on the island? I live in Courtenay so mid island would be better, but if I need to drive to Victoria so be it.

They did a motor for me and it turned out good.
You can bring them a core (your old one) and they can give you a new rebuilt one.

Thanks Gil, Thompson has been recommended to me by several sources now. It's already loaded in the back of the truck and ready for a trip to Nanaimo tomorrow.

this May sound kinda odd and i am not discounting Thompsons in any way but my buddy needed a new engine for his boat and found the best deal at Bonds mechanical in Burnaby was even cheaper after the ferry costs and such. As with anything it pays to shop around and they are also a reputable shop with free estimates...

I did a Bonds Mechanical short block with good results as well.
