Elk/Beaver Lakekeepers Workshop

The B.C. Lake Stewardship Society will be hosting a workshop on March 28-29, 2015 in Victoria. It will focus on Elk/Beaver Lake which is currently suffering water quality issues. Registration is $25 and can be processed through the B.C. Lake Stewardship Society website. The session will be led by Dr. Rick Nordin, a noted limnologist in this area. Rick is also on the executive of the BCLSS and has worked with the B.C. government and University of Victoria. Topics which will be covered include organizing a stewardship group for Elk/Beaver Lake, fundraising, lake ecology, watershed planning and developing a lake monitoring program. Optional topics include invasive species, aquatic plant surveying, watershed assessments and watershed planning processes. Registration is limited to 24 persons so make sure you register early.
