I’ve lost 3 of them the last one I just happened to look in the mirror when it came off, it bounced 10’ in the air, thank god it didn’t go through someone’s windshield , wouldn’t want that on my conscience.
so what I do is clean very good with isopropyl alcohol bearing buddie where it meets the axle , then caulk it around the whole buddie, I use a product called gutter seal ,but I’m sure any high quality sealant will do , have never had one come off since
had to change one when grease nipple seized , wasn’t too hard to cut the old goo out and replace
speaking of that the grease nipple is attached with a nut and lock washer from the other side , poor design they should of just threaded the metal plate , so you could change easily
