Island Outfitters will be holding their Early Bird Ticket Night for the 11th Annual Just for the Halibut Derby on Wednesday, March 28th at the Six Mile Pub on Sooke Road in View Royal, just outside of Victoria, starting at 6:30 PM. I'm told that there will be lots of prizes and give-aways that night. Legend has it that beer might be involved too
Tickets are $50 per rod, just like last year. First place prize in the derby is $7,500. There will again be a $20,000 bonus prize for the first halibut over 202 lbs.
