Dogfish?

What are dogfish like? I see some people are catching and keeping them. What are they like to clean? How do you cook them and what do they taste like?

Keep one once... Not bad tasting I did find the meat a little soft. It wasn't to bad to clean. I have watched a couple videos where you peel the skin right off.

I tried two different cooking methods. Made fish and chips and wrapped with prosciutto.

Would I keep the next time I catch I don't think so.

White meat, they urinate through their skin
so they have be treated prior to eating usually by soaking in
vinegar.
Don't waste your time, there are so many other good tasting fish

AGREED! I kept one once. I went through all the methods designed to make it palatable. Soak it in milk and lemon juice etc. Batter fry it to make fish and chips, etc. Then throw it out and eat some salmon. Even my oldest, almost freezer burnt salmon tasted better than fresh, carefully prepared dogfish.

I have a dogfish cook book.... It even teaches you the best methods to catch dog fish. Guess one could just ask Jencourt :) Sorry Ray,
