diesel power boat

New to the forum,I have one question does any body have any experience with diesel power boat like a sea swirl striper,any problems? good or bad ?

I bought a new boat in the spring , 2359 trophy alaskan hard top with 5.7 merc , I think the diesel in this boat would be sick , long range , cheaper to run and more power. Way more to buy though and maybe less places to fuel up the coast ?

That's a pretty small engine. 170Hp max I believe. Which Striper hull? Don't think you'd like that engine on anything bigger than the 2101 -- maybe the 2301 but I'd think it would be under-powered.
