cracked block

yes but it should be done by a welder that knows how to weld cast properly. Also it depends on where the crack is.

Yes your block can be welded! Have to drill out the both ends of crack first to keep crack from expanding. Grind and clean crack and adjacent area. Use ni-rod {stick welding} stich weld crack area weld max one inch at a time, stop and peen weld area for about 30 seconds to relieve stress and any spider cracking which may develop. Repeat process untill repair is complete. No pre-heat is required for this process. Works like a hot damm. Good luck.

A good weld will be stronger than the surrounding material.I think the real question is how good is your welder?

apparently I was duped by previous owner
the block had allready been welded
now looking for a block any ideas
 
ive got a 351w block in my garage, and possibly a 302 coming up soon
