Coho Retention

I just spoke to Department of Fisheries in Victoria and he said he believes that there will be no retention of Coho allowed this fall. He said stocks are very low and at best hatchery only might be considered.

Anyone else heard this?

No, what I' ve heard for area 19/20 is that this year from Oct 1st onward they are considering changing the daily limit from 4 coho per day of which only 1 may be wild....to any 2 coho per day

I sure hope they go this way. It is simpler to manage and enforce, and better for the fish.

Yes, it makes much more sense than weeding through a bunch of wilds.

That would be much better than releasing unmarked floaters all day in search of a couple clipped ones!
