Given okay weather conditions you should be fine as fairly protected waters. Good idea to bring a hand held gps and a compass just in case the fog rolls in. Last year not a stitch of fog. By the way one of the areas to fish is straight across from browns bay marina in plumper bay less then 5 minutes away.
You will not be the only one in a tinny trust me<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Just thought I'd get the adrenaline going for you guys. We managed 8 chum this morning our limit for 2 guys before noon in deepwater bay. They were all between 10lbs-18lbs. They all fought like a hot damn and they were bright chrome!! Just thougt I would wet your appetites!!

So bowsup are you going to be there let me know if you need a campsite. I have confirmed that 4 boats have at least 2 people sleeping on them, a cabin with min of 2, and 10 campsites booked so far we have over 30 in our group all from different fishing sites. This will be a mini fish-in, but the way it's growing who knows. Total hits on my posts alone over 3500. We plan on having a get togethers each night (Fish Planning Sessions) at the octagon club house at ripple rock campsite. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> It is going to be a grand event. Just so everyone knows I am not an organizer of the derby nor am I seeing any return on what I'm doing other then getting a bunch of fishermen together for a fantastic weekend of fun<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

took my tinny up to greensea on sat afternoon, got 7 and lost 5. biggest was 22 smallest was 11. had a quadrouple header... landed 3, 22, 15, and 12- quite the show with only two guys in the boat!!! glass calm water, fishing amongst 21 commercial trollers, a good aftrernoon.

went up saturday deepwater 10,12,15 lost a couple,all came in around 10-11 o'clock. lots of people out there, lots of fish being cought .

[Still Learnin]

Spent the last two days fishing at Deepwater and Plumper the worst fishing I have ever seen at Browns, three hits, one fish. The weather change has put them off the feed plus the commercial boats where out in full force. Did any one have any better luck? How about Green Sea or Chathom?

Uh Oh!! I don't mean to scare anyone but it looks more and more like there could be a Saltwater Cowboy sighting at the derby!! Don't worry though I don't carry any weapons for use against humans, only for Chum!! I guess this means you guys better enjoy your beers as I have my eye on the PRIZE!! haha I hope everything works out and I can make it, it's looking promising!! Look forward to meeting everyone and BS ing over dinner, drinks and a canucks win on the big screen!!

Anyone fish Browns Bay/Greensea yesterday? Seemed slow. Lots of commercial trollers at Greensea - a few around Deepwater. Appeared as if most boats south were at Deepwater (no effort whatsoever at Plumper).

We ended up with a few but lots of hours to do so.
