Caamano Sound Fishing

Hello!

I am heading out to Caamano Sound from June 3-23 and wondering if anyone has fished that area and would be willing to point out some of the main spots in the area. I know there is a lodge at operates out of the area.

We are in a 28ft Sea Sport, and will be running up from Port Hardy... mostly we power mooch however we do fish riggers once in a while.

Any pointers would be great!

Lucky you! It’s awesome up there. I’ll be back up there at the end of July and the beginning of Hogust!

I would try the tip of rennison island down the east side, Baker point, ulric point, alaxander island to eclipse point(campania island south tip) to get you started. Spoons and hoochies work ok but I would bring a healthy supply of anchovies! If your into bottom fishing you shouldn’t have any issues getting into them on any bank or shoal up there.

Once up there keep an eye out for the lodge boats and you’ll find all the good spots for salmon in short order! If you tune into channel 72 you may even hear where they are.
