Buying an outboard at the Boat SHow

Has anyone made a large purchase like a boat or an outboard at the boat show? I'm shopping for a 200-250 outboard and have hit up all the local shops in the central island. Everyone says that they offer boat show pricing. I'm curious if that is a fair statement or if it is worth spending a Saturday riding ferries and buses in hopes of a better deal.

Not sure about all the dealers. I did buy twin outboards and a kicker on the Island in November and the dealer was the first one to mention that if they sell them for cheaper during the boat show that I would be refunded. They were very upfront about it. Good excuse to go to the boat show if you ask me! lol
