Has anyone beena able to get ahold of them for a campsite? Called ripple rock 5 times long distance over two days with no answer.

Bought my first boat in the spring and after reading about this derby for the last couple years I just booked for me and 2 buddies to attend. I hope everyone is ready for a few rookies to join the show.

Looking forward to it...

Kelly, you have to try several times.
Getting an answer there first call is like getting a triple header this past summer!

This will be my first derby at Browns Bay. Where do you recommend launching from? Will Browns Bay launch be too busy the morning of the derby?

Pauls always a little more reserved out there than the bulk of the crew!

Really must wanna win it one of these years...

Gimee the gaff!!!

Not sure if being reserved is a BAD thing.
Don't drink, don't smoke and heck, who else is going to take care of you guys.
As for winning....my biggest fish are always caught the day before the derby...go figure...

King Cod.

The thing to do is arrive and launch Friday night.
Moor overnight and in the morning you'll be way more relaxed.
That said, the launch is usually pretty quick - not many rookie boaters fish this late in the year so those on the ramp are good at it.

Was out this weekend with the family and got 2.
One on a pink/black on a 56" leader at 42' and the other on a pink/white/wedding band/spoon equipped hootchie that my daughter picked out, this one on a 36" leader at 62'.
Threw back several shakers.

OBMG that we saw were all using bright pink minis and about 42" leaders behind a variety of flashers, mostly orange or green or purple haze.

Things were slow all around, the biggest bite we saw was when 2 fish were being played in the group.
Most people had 1 or 2 fish at the end of a day.
The sounder is plugged with fish and they are jumping but just not biting yet.

Word is that chum are just in Hardy now so hope that they are here in 2 weeks!
