Bringing Boat up from US

I have also brought a boat back on a trailer with no issues. Just make sure you do have all documents such as bill of sale, title certificates etc. No need to use a Broker.

If a trailer make sure it has the Vin decal/stamps on it and have proper insurance/binder to bring it back.

Was pretty easy 3 years ago

Hi guys - wondering if anyone has any tips on this? I have done a search but most threads seem to be about trailering boats up across the border. This boat I'm looking at is in the water in Seattle so I would be running it up through Puget Sound, past the San Juans and into Vancouver. Any advice is much appreciated..

Bought my newest boat on lopez island (American San Juans) in 2012.

Boated straight back, called the toll free number as I passed the bell.

Was instructed to go to the yellow dock by Granville island and call again.
Docked on the yellow dock, called again. They asked a couple of questions about me (passport #, etc.) and boat, and price over the phone.
Then they said cleared but I had to go in to do the paperwork downtown within the week (or something like that).
Docked in my spot at Burrard Civic and went home.

Went to customs downtown a day or two later, with my invoice. Paid my taxes (HST at the time) and that was it.

Then registered for a vessel number.

Done

No broker needed. Super Super easy. So easy I couldn't believe it.
