Bottom Jigging Outfit

If you go back and look at the poster's question ,you'll see he's not asking about a halibut rod ,he wants to target cod.I regularly jig for salmon on Constance Bank in Victoria with a 10 ft.6 in. rod and Shimano 4000 reel.On the bank we rarely fish in more than 100 ft. of water and I doubt he would be for cod.I have no problem setting a hook with this setup and we occasionally hit a halibut when targeting salmon.I have a bad rotator cuff shoulder and have bought and tried the expensive($600) short jigging rods thinking it would be easier on my shoulder. Not so,I had to jig twice as often with the short 6ft.6in. rod and put up with the dreaded wobble. Lesson learned,I'll stick with (old school).
