Both the G1 and G2 etecs offer HO versions throughout their line up. The G (generation)1 is an amazing motor IMHO. The G2's are the one's that are getting most of the bad press. I don't know if that criticism is legit or not. Originally they were offered with a 10 year warranty and something like 300 hours before any service requirement. Confidence must have been high. Many people think the etec technology is just another 2 stroke and are unaware of its roots. Also there are far fewer G2's out there as they were produced closer to the demise of the outboard line at Bombardier.

anyway.... the motor on the boat in question is a G2 250hp HO

I drive by this boat every day almost. It’s had a for sale sign on it for a year but I never looked into it. Looks like a decent deal

I’ve never seen it move out of the driveway. He does put a winter cover on the outboard every winter. That’s the only action I’ve seen it get

I bought my 1980 boat like 7 years ago and it had 380 hours on it. Original evinrude 115 that was mint. It’s got newer power now though but I sold that 115 for $2000
