Boat leg length experts

Question for the experts, finally getting around to doing up my hourston Glassworks done , now onto the pod
Somehow when I bought the verado for the boat many years ago I didn't realize it's an XXL leg
Should I have the pod builder
Build for a 25" leg and use a jack plate
Build for a 30" leg
Buy a 25" legged motor.
What's everyone's thoughts
I just don't want it to look stupid

I always recommend the longest leg it gets the powerhead farther up from swells and the swim grid farther up also.

I have a 30" on mine for the reasons suggested above. It's nice to stand on the pod and not get your feet wet.

Review the Kicker Tie Bar thread to be sure you do the correct transom lip height for the main and kicker so you can tie the two together for trolling/steering. Know what the kicker length is as well.

Verados and their power steering don’t pair well kickers. The Merc power steering is always on, drawing on your batteries and the kicker alternator can’t keep up.

Best to find an independent steering system for your kicker.

run the verado without the power steering just put fitting in it and a hydraulic helm 1.7ci works best

Already have independent kicker steering so no tie bar needed
