Best source for Current Charts?

What is the best place to get current charts for the Victoria/ Sooke area? Preferable in a graph form would be ideal.

Is the Navionics+ worth the $30 to get current predictions?

I am using the discovery or Jaun da fuca east stations

Currents at Discovery Island, 3 miles SSE of, Washington

Provides daily plots and monthly tables of predicted tidal heights and currents for various stations around Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, the Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound, and the Strait of Georgia.

I think this I where most guys are going for tide/ current info

How accurate do you find these charts? Since it’s for the entire JDF east, is sooke maybe 1-2 hrs earlier?

I use the JDF east too but I also use Deep Zoom at Pillar Point.

There are a limited number of locations for current predictions.
By experience you will find how the closest reporting location predication will relate to where you are fishing.
Even then, there are variances mostly determined by the back eddies created by the speed of the current.
When you are fishing there is nothing more valuable than experience.

They more accurately show local tidal and current variations (back eddies, etc.) due to local geography and bathymetry.
