Best Method to Drain the leg in cold weather

I intend on using my boat more in the next while. I am just wondering if anyone has a unique way of ensuring the water is out of the leg prior to it freezing at night.
I have both a honda and yammi, both outboards, on my boat.

Carol - I ran a Merc 110hp and kicker for 5 years. After flushing the saltwater, I set the leg in the down position to drain it... end of story.

A buddy of mine drains his 4 Stroke outboard by hooking an air line to the fresh water flush out, not necessary but a shot of air will do it.
