Batterie Questions

These questions are geared for my RV

1. I have two 6v batteries run in series (12v) that I just found totally dead and seem to be missing allot of liquid, down past the lead. If I top them up with distilled water and hit them with a charger is there any chance of recovery?

2. I have 2 pairs of 6V batteries but they are stored in different locations on the RV plumed into the system as 12V. Can I do this if they are not holding at the same voltage. One pair is at 12.6 and the other not sure yet because I found them dead and dry but I doubt they will hold the same amount of volts.

Thanks

With the dead batteries you can certainly top them up and charge separately from the other two. They may be okay. However, a conventional "smart" charger may not be able to read enough voltage to start the charging process. If you can find an old transformer type charger it should work. Put a load test on after charging.

I'd also check the RV converter to see why the batteries boiled dry in the first place.
