Barkley crabs

As I've posted before, we're making our first ever trip to Barkley Sound at the end of August. Is there any crabbing in Barkley worth bringing along a trap?

Yes, we usually fish crabs in Barkley Sound in late Aug and early Sept. Look for other traps along the coast in between Ucluelet and Toquart bay. Right in frt of Salmon Beach too. You might have to fish deeper (20-25 fath)depending on the water temps. [8D]

u can pretty much find crab anywhere. sarita bay is good and out by bamfield too. but yea.... depends where you stay.

Thanks. We'll be staying at Island West in Ucluelet for two weeks. 20 - 25 fathoms eh? I guess I'd better pick up a little extra buoy line.

yea...... i dunno. i fish them in any depth from 60-200 feet
