Anyone own a 2000's Honda 9.9 ?

I have a problem with the tilt lock return spring breaking on my 2014. 4 in 2 years. I think it's been installed incorrectly or they're giving me the wrong part. If you have a 9.9 that the tilt spring isn't breaking, can you please send me a picture of how that spring is installed?

I installed the spring according to the vague Honda sheet but it broke (AGAIN) the first day we were out on the boat. I have another (5th) new spring in hand and can now again access the underside of the motor to install it.

I really could use some clear pitcures of on that is installed in a way that it both: works, and isn't breaking.
