Any one using an I Pad or Tablet as a Second station display

We run a lowrance hds 9 and mirror it to our iPhone, android phones, and Samsung tablet. The samsung phone and the samsung tablet dont require cell service to show location. I disconnect from the plotter all the time and use navionics on my tablet to check out different fishing spots.

I have an iPad with GPS in a life proof case that I use for work but this summer I installed the HD Navionics app and bought a Ram mount for my boat, it works great. I have an older Lowrance colour chart plotter that I run as a single screen with sonar. I have triple the screen size with the iPad running the charts now than previously with the Lowrance plus now I take the iPad out of the boat when not fishing for work related stuff, a win win for me as I hate spending money on single purpose gadgets. I also use my iPad for hunting by downloading Avenza PDF georeferenced maps from ArcGIS.
