9.9hp johnson

[Maxpower]

A friend of mine has a 9.9 that he dropped and says he broke the frame to where the motor mounts to. How fixable is this? Have not seen it my self. what would it take to get it back to lake worthy?

I have a 8 hp Merc that I use as a kicker on my D/eagle. I bought it three yrs ago, Nice & clean, newer model. I realized sometime later that the mnting mech had been welded. I looks good & has held up well. Up to that point it had only been used in fresh water & wasn't corroded when it was welded. The part should be removed so it can be beveled out for a good weld but sometimes its hard to do as these mechanisms fit together with pretty close tolerances. Its amazing what a good welder is capable of!
