70lb Chinooks!!!!

How much fish can a guy eat anyway, really?I eat fish about once/week,average throughout the year.I hate seeing the popsicles in the freezer,it's just wrong.I don't care if those big hawgs are released,as long as they are given a very good chance of surviving the ordeal. My experience with different programs regarding chinook(fresh and salt)suggests that they do not come through the ordeal of C+R as well as any other salmon. If they're spent when they hit the net, beach, boat or whatever, they are spent.Unfortunately,it's more likely to be a one way trip with them, compared to just about any other species. So,if that big boy finds the digital camera, try and determine if he is a candidate for c&r,if individual rib lines show through the skin,he's built up a ton of lactic acid that may take up to 72 hours to disappear,if he makes it.While he's trying to get rid of it,he doesn't move much, doesn't feed etc.
