Cold and windy, perfect gear maintenance day. Found a nice way to store flashers and gear with the Milwaukee pack out, it has a customizable tray system that I used with a kids chopped up pool noodle.
Havent seen a zero in the forcast for a long time Screenshot_20230129-154633_Windy.jpg

I went out yesterday, the boat was frozen in place. We had to rock it while reversing, then go forward, reverse, forward, reverse. An off road technique. It took a bit to get out. We tried at 730, but she wouldnt budge. It was 100pm when we officially started. Trolled from Ambleside to point Atkinson and back. No, bait, bites or any signs of life. Packed it in at 400pm

still jealous.

Had the boat loaded up and wife not feeling good today so we’re not gonna head out now. Glad to hear there wasn’t much action out there so I don’t feel as bad . Maybe I’ll just go to work 😂

One just over at the bell today, on a blue hoochie and flasher. Just after high tide, right on the bottom. It was the only hit in two hours but marked tons of bait. Was almost dead calm, excellent conditions to troubleshoot the main motor not starting.

Blue/white Hourston. Think we might have waved at you? Luckily it was just the starter pinion jammed up, easy fix.
Ah right on. Yeah could have only been one of the two boats we saw all day lol. What a beauty people missed if they were afraid of a bit of cold. :p ;)

We had a day ourselves...

It was a beauty yesterday. Fairly balmy once we got going. Some big thick bait balls however fish were tight lipped. One 60cm fish returned, decent haul of prawns and most crabs undersized.

Oh and we caught this. Is it a Kelp Greenling and could we have kept it?
