Ended with just the one hatchery coho, let two really nice wild coho go. Didn't mark many fish on the sounder.

Springs must have moved up river. Might try one last go on Friday after the rain flushes everything up river...
We have landed 5 wild and finally one hatchery Ho. All at Sandheads. Great Coho action

SH 12-4 , one sock at 1:15 67’ on the rigger,180’ of water, anchovies bunch of other hits that didn’t stick , fished north west of SH out deep , schools of bait so thick looked like a fish on. Orcas at T10 on our way in was a bonus

Yes look at my sounder. Bait spread out in a huge area. We finished with a 20lb marble Spring. No Sockeyes, 5 wild Cohos and one hatch. And a couple Dungeness as a bonus.

NA is an August and early September fishery. If SH is already slowing down, we know where the last secret but productive spot is.

Yes, from just outside the bell buoy, I trolled to Pt Atkinson last week during the storm weather we had. There is a line that some guides follow, I was on it but not much luck that day.

Oct 1st we can fish the North Arm again, as the SRKW closure ends at midnight on Sept 30th.
Interesting.... DFO seems to think the SRKW all go on holidays starting Oct 1st? Or isn't because all the salmon in that area staging outside the north arm are gone and a certain interest group who happens to be based near the north arm no longer care if we fish the north arm in Oct since all the salmon are gone.

SRKW santuctuary my butt.... didn't see a single killer whales hang out in that area all summer long... aren't the SRKW always on the move? What a bunch of BS.

That's where many of the whale-watching boats head, I would assume they were looking at something.

Any recent reports on prawning in the Sound? Thinking of dropping the traps this weekend and trying for some early tyees before they all head south.

Aside - Have you ever considered changing your range on the sonar to (say) < 150ft? You will see a lot more caterpillars on the screen than dots. When fishing out in la-la land at Sandheads I full-screen the sonar (split freq) and the fish are clear as day.

I do both, easy to alter the range to where the fish are with the on screen down button, and is handy. Much better detail. Split sonar, 200 on one side, and chirp on the other, default settings btw on mine. In deeper water the 200 side is much clearer for arches etc.
