Good luck trying to sportfish sockeye in the middle of the gulf. If there was a few million fish around maybe. Not sure what the numbers are like atm for the southern straight

Maybe it’s just crab fishing has started

Looking out from Whiterock this morning all I can see is boats from Point Roberts to Blaine would they have an opening for sockeye?

I'm full on ramming this year.

Fished Entrance from 8am till 11am, got a bunch of tan rockfish that did not need a descender don't know what they are called, Managed 2 legal springs our limit and one under(60 cm)
Then tried for some coho off cowen pt, for an hour with no luck. Choppy crossing but entrance and Cowen pt (Bowen ) where calm.
Got the fish from 160-220 on the riggers . Wrapped the day up a 2pm

No worries just string a bunch of old semi tires around your rubrail and you'll be good to go. The Sept 1 circus will be in full effect.
This year, we're in for an even more entertaining circus than in past years. With the SRKW closure of North Arm, the South Arm will be the mother of boating traffic jams! Buckle up, fellas!
