Coho can look a lot like a spring with spots on the back. And also have spots on both lobes of tail. As well when in the river can darken up to make it even harder to id. Aper above in the teeth should be black and a spring has bigger more pronounced teeth.

It's a female Chum-some Chum can have small spots seen it many times.

And as mentioned the gums and the anal fin edged in white are a dead giveaway.

edit-also the overall yellowish cast to the fish-the Squamish run has occasional yellowish coloured Chum.

That is a dead wild coho buck. It is your typical local 4lb male coho. This is your average size coho that have been returning locally , all exact clones of this. Wildmanyeah couldn’t have pointed out it any easier.

Luckily in this day and age people kill things and are more concerned about a picture rather than properly identifying their catch.

One good size wild coho at sandheads this morning. 65 feet on anchovy in 200ft. Couple more hits on anchovy and a white hoochie, but they didn't stick. No action since 11am. Saw two fish landed, otherwise looked slow, a few dozen boats. Good conditions, fairly calm.

Took the daughter and her boyfriend for his first ocean fishing trip. Out at SH 8:00 to 12:00 yesterday then headed to Cap. Should have stayed at SH as no action at Cap and ended up tangled in a crab line set out where everyone was. Boats dodging buoys ! Saved everything after a few tense minutes.
At SH we had two quick hits at 67’ on riggers and about 250 - 300 feet water, but both were little chinook. Next hit came 1/2 hour later at same depth. The boyfriend took it and brought in a 20 lb / 82 cm ugly chum. Same keta teeth as the previous post. No teeth in gums. The outside was greenish with yellowish looking stripes. Not the prettiest!!
Our daughter then had another on. Brought in a good sized Chinook, but still too small. Good morning, but no bites after 10:45. Saw a few other boats with nets out as well.
Weather good, water good! Off the water at 4:30.
