I am repowering and podding my boat and I have a 302 ci Volvo Penta engine built in 1996 with 1300 hours on it. The engine has low compression in 2 cylinders, We suspect a head gasket needs replacement. Compression numbers are from Westshore Marine and as follows : 1-145, 2-130, 3-150, 4-160, 5-125, 6-90, 7-140, 8-160. The engine had the following replaced over the last year, Manifolds, risers, distributor and all bellow rubbers. Serial # 5.0FIPNCSCE
The 1996 Volvo SX leg is in good condition and had no problems with it when removed from the boat. The package of leg and engine comes with transom assembly, pivot housing and steering system.
