1982 Ex DFO 24 foot double eagle

So after a year of looking at double eagles and living in Northern bc I finally moved down to the island and found one. Shes a 24 foot originally built for the dfo, she's got twin mercruiser 470s that run good and have had the alternator and 4" cooler upgrades done. Stand up head, Propane Heater, stove, hot water on demand and the 12v fridge works. Its 9'6" at the widest part of the flare and a 25 degree dead rise at the stern,

I gotta go through everything and finish installing my electronics that consist of a lowrance hds 9 live, lowrance link-9 radio with ais, simrad halo 20+, airmar tm185 transducer and the mnea2000 network. It's got an old school remote steering that you control via toggle switch at the stern.20211113_135100.jpg20211113_135137.jpg20211126_164159.jpg20211126_164151.jpgSnapchat-388475659.jpg

I've read up alot on them, I'm a licensed HD and auto tech so I should be able to handle them untill it gets a pod.

Wicked! I missed out on one of these once but wasn’t ready for it to be my first boat. Totally worth the wait and better than the other ones you were looking at. 250-300k boat new!

Sick and with that electronics package it will be unstoppable.

I have tuna gear ready to go for next summer once you have her dialled in!

A Few updates on my 24 since I first picked it up, did alot of Cleaning and stripping out everything that wasn't needed including 14 20ft wires that ran back to front and a bag of randoms, drilling the holes for my tm185hw the wood was clean, had my radar mount, kicker bracket and rod holders built by DSS welding here in duncan, serviced and tuned up the engines, replaced an exhaust manifold, re-sealed the risers, went through the drives with new impellers and swapped the lowers over to alpha ones with a port side counter rotate, Installed a fuel / water seperator, new batterys, and the list goes on and on.

I had to take my radar back in to harbour chandler and they replaced it under warrenty the only thing it would pick up is ocean liners. Have had it out twice now and put on about 50 miles, cruises nice at 28 mph at 3200, haven't pushed it yet but did hit 38 mph at around 4200 with 19p 3 blades.

It sure makes my 17' look small!20220209_162944.jpg20220209_162100.jpg20220122_131938.jpg20220122_131915.jpg20220122_131904.jpg20220207_142318.jpg

Any videos of it underway?

Right on congrats. She's a beauty. I can see you podding it in the future for sure. Are you on the island or mainland? If on the island I know a guy that can pod that for you when the time comes. He's done DE's, Bertrams, etc.. That boat you have there is perfect for our west coast. Enjoy!

A fresh coat of black bottom paint will make that boat look like $1,000,000.
It’s a super cool boat, and when you pod and repower it, will be an amazing machine.
