Some reverse tire kicking here...
Is there any interest on here for a 1984 Hourston 17 ft hardtop? The boat is quite clean, but needs a bunch of work. I bought it before I bought the Gambier (this is obviously WHY I bought the Gambier).
-The transom, stringers and floor require replacement.
-The AQ171 with 270 outdrive needs work but is very salvageable.
-timing belt broke at idle, 8 valves with minor bends, no damage to head or pistons. The exhaust manifold is in great shape (very difficult to find)
It is a really cool boat, and I cant bring myself to toss it. The AQ171, while having a somewhat spotty reputation, is a monster of an engine and is really sought after in the racecar/volvo scene. It's a dual overhead cam 2.5L engine that produces 170 hp. This boat would fly.
See pictures below, and let me know if you're interested. I would love to keep it and restore it at some point, but it might take a while to get to it.
Please only message if you're interested in the entire boat. I'm not willing to part out the engine at this point.
I will be keeping the trailer .
