105 pound Rivers inlet Chinook

Either go fish there or not its pretty simple.. I personally think its one of the best and last places to fish for trophy fish and is big game fishing.. It's definitely a bucket list place if you haven't fished there. People seek out lots of places to go to catch big game fish whether it is Blue fin tuna, Marlin or swordfish. I have 2 of those ticked off my list and on to the next.

It said they trailered there boat to dawsons landing I can't find a route there the only one I found was to Hardy then cross the 17 miles to Cape Caution and continue by water to rivers inlet...is there road access to somewhere close by? I have made that crossing before and it can be eerily calm or really nasty...

Whoever wrote the story obviously has never been to Rivers. There is no way to trailer to Dawsons:rolleyes:
That's what I figured I mean you could do the ferry to Bella Bella and come back down by boat or drive to Bella coola and again boat down, I guess I'll have to put on my big girl panties and brave that crossing from Hardy to Cape Caution again lol

How did you guys do this year?
Slower this year compared to last that’s for sure eh @tincan ! We were there first week of August. Had to grind for a few chances each day. Last year we were having 5-10 fish days with a couple slower ones mixed in. Sounded like a good push of them came in a little later this year. Mooching out of a friends 345 conquest that we ran up from Nanoose Bay presented its challenges but we were certainly comfortable! Had a great time fishing our way down. Calvert was popping off with 10-13lb coho.

I saw that boat at Dawson’s landing

That’s the thing, a fish that big has to be poor eating anyways and once the battle is over then that’s it. I mean that’s the whole deal isn’t it, the thrill of the battle, well for me anyways. Revive it let it go.
Poor eating ???? While I am not challenging the fact that it was released, I do challenge the assumption that it would be poor eating. Sound like the Great Large Halibut Eating Debate all over again !
