Anyone need Crabs?

Not so odd when you know that many sea food plants are not operating because many of the traditional North American and asian markets are not open to do business. Creative marketing needed to survive.

Lots of prawns for sale on fb marketplace as well. ~$30-35 for 30-35 prawns. Many appear to have legit packaging.

Commercial prawning opened yesterday (so gear was set starting at 7:00am) so anything you are seeing for sale is not from this years commercial. However there has been a black market out there that I am aware of.

Lots of legit prawn commercial guys sell direct to the customer. I know the guy that lives down the street from me has a commercial walk in freezer on his property. Sells tubs of tails direct. Lots of prawns in the freezer still from last season because of covid.

Please reread my post. It is 100% accurate.

I have numerous commercial friends who market their prawns in various ways but there were no fresh prawns from them until yesterday.

That being said if a person wanted black market prawns ...they have been readily available all winter long.

I catch my own prawns or buy sidestripes in season from commercial guys.

Spot prawns available year round at TNT supermarket live... not sure how/where they source them. Would like to know.
