"Alone" T.V. Show....

We didn't tell anyone in the game how many people were still on the ground until we picked up the winner. So no one knew if there were 10 guys still or 1, great idea I thought, kept everyone thinking who was left.

Buckets of rain last night, must be draining sitting under a tarp for a couple days.

Looking forward to next week.

Yes, I got that no one still I it would find out how many were left. What I was wondering was if, when everyone headed out on day one, they knew the last man standing would be picked up shortly after the second last man tagged out. Or were they all under the assumption from the start that they would only be picked up when they decided to tag out. Because if the rules were to pick up the winner as soon as he was the only one left, then he would know to keep going until you came to get him. But if he was under the assumption that you wouldn't come - ever - until he tagged out, then that's a whole nuther kettle of limpets. Different mind set from the start.

Anyway, maybe I missed it or the producers want to keep me guessing. We will find out in the end I suppose.

Great show so far.

Hmmm the episode from last night is locked on history channel web page. Will it be avaliable later or am I SOL because I didn't PVR it?

It wants me to log in to watch, all the other episodes just play

I wonder what everyone was eating until now. They didn't really show us anything until 2 weeks into show. Alan ate the slug and seaweed and now limpets. one guys found chanterlls but never showed him eating or cooking any and two had barred up chum other then that. I was getting a bit skeptical on them not taking any food in.

Cuttlefish I doubt they could afford to just sit there until a guy tapped out even if was the last guy for along time.

this kinda makes me laugh a lil...

if they actually had a couple skilled west coast types the show would never end..

TW,

Thats why they didn't have any west coast peeps, no fear factor, no crying, not really good for TV. Everyone was eastern US or Canada. Much like one of us getting dropped in the EverGlades in FL and nothing and trying to deal with the gators, snakes, all the crap.

The crew that is on the ground right now are the real deal ,know how to survive that's for sure. Thursday should be another great show, can't wait.

true that,, i think i could scare away a cougar, but an alligator? fugget it!

Just catching up on this show and now seen most episodes and saw most of the episode last night which I think went up to day 31 or 32 out there

Alan is hilarious and entertaining ...seems like he's got it figured out well too - loved the fish trap he made but it seemed odd how the time lapse showed it took several days to just add the cross branches ??? I can see Alan hosting his own survival show some day !! He's got a good radio voice too.
The producers however just can't seem to get their fish ID correct ! .... nice "Lingcod" ?? lol .... how can you mistake a Rockfish for a Lingcod?

Not sure if anyone has brought this up here yet but I notice there are occasionally wide camera shots from ground level 100's of feet/yards away from their camps that I would assume weren't set up by the contestants like most of the cameras are. Bear Cove/Wade, do you know if those cameras were set up ahead of time and not controlled by the contestants ? Also not sure if anybody mentioned this yet so my apologies if they have, but how did contestants not run out of battery pwr for all the Gopro's used?

You getting any calls for bookings yet out of this!? You've had some great advertising side shots of your boat. Can you see if hits to your website has gone up?

Peahead,

Great question, thats the amazing thing about TV and editing. A lot of the footage you see in between the contestants footage has been shot prior to the contestants arriving at their locations for use in the show after they arrive at their location. They crew filmed much of it during location scouting so they did not have to do it while the contestants were there, They wanted VERY limited contact with them during the shoot, hence Alone being the name.

As for batteries, each contestant was provided a pelican case with extra cameras, batteries, sim cards things like this. We dropped these cases for them at their locations the day before we dropped them. The case had some awesome battery banks for charge things, some with 18 hours of charging power, stuff I have never seen before, very cool stuff. Each week when we checked on them the executive producer, medic and camera guy hit the ground for no more than 20 mins, changed out cards, battery pack and a quick assessment by the medic and then we were on our way.

Hope that helps.

Mitch was the guy I voted for online but I don't think he'll be the last one standing for some reason. Can't wait for this weeks episode!!
