Kitty Coleman 2014 Reports

Union Bay might be fine if you have a rollers on your trailer. I couldn't get my Campion 542 off the bunks at high tide. I wouldn't even think about taking my Striper down there. It's too bad, because it's a great location with lots of parking. Too shallow, though.

Never have an issue at union unless its less than a 7 foot tide. And I have bunks.

I can't imagine you're using the ramp with a 7 foot tide. Using the mud on the right is a bit risky unless you have a 4x4.
Sorry for the side track of topics guys. I use union bay launch all the time. My truck never gets wet and have never used 4 wheel drive to get my boat out of the water. My boat is aluminum but is pretty heavy. I wouldn't be scared of this beach launch as there is lots of parking, cheap to use and you hardly never have to wait long to get in or out of the water.

Totally agree.. I can launch at a 3ft tide in 2 wheel drive. And I have slick bunks

Kitty for a few hours this afternoon. Doggies, that's all. Didn't see a net out on anyone else. Nice night on the water....

Spent time today with family at Kitty. Our goal was to see what jigging would bring up. All kinds of bottom fish; ling, grey, rock and to many to count ( dogs ). They had a great time but was hoping for least 1 salmon for bbq. Sausage for supper tonight... Hopefully catch the next wave..

Up date---Kitty is still producing springs and coho off the the 150-200 ft level.. The most memorable occurrence was a "killer" killer whale show in the early afternoon. Around 10 animals-- breaching, spy hopping, pectoral slaps., tail slaps and gawking at close range at the funny humans in their boats!!!

That really makes a day on the water worthwhile, doesn't it CL - regardless of how many fish you catch, or not.

Sure does....beautiful day out there today even if we were shy of limits... But we got a mix of rockies, springs and coho..not too shabby for a few hrs on the water!

We got the whale show Monday night off French Creek just as the sun was setting. Been on the water my whole life and never seen breaching orcas up close in the wild before...amazing

Lots of dog fish :)

Might go try CR today and fish the green can. Some large fish being caught up there :)
