No but we sure could use them to persuade the DFO to give us a larger Halibut quota!

Bigmeal and I were out from 830 till close to 2
without a snif , nothin , almost no bait on the sounder
we fished posesion to the head aldridge and fraser island
awsome day though , sunny flat , spring like really .....

thanks Bigmeal lets do it again soon

I hate it when you guys speak in code...lol...I need a reference guide to find out what you're sayin!

ha
Bluffs = cliffs to the west of Sooke Harbour
JR = Jordan River

but the real difficulty is figuring out what that *really* means -- when Paul says JR area, does he mean from Sheringham to Port Renfrew?

Like that old joke, the way you tell if a fisherman is lying is if his lips are moving ... what is the online equivalent? ;-)

Ha, I spent the good part of the day anchored up at the bluffs. One dogfish. And one other bite that was small. Trolled for salmon for the early part of the morning and had nothing at the trailer park.

There is always somewhere to fish if you want to, when it's to fast to fish constance or oakbay,it's perfect for point no point west. They get some great fishing off Jordan river and sombrio pt, but be carefull it's not a quick 5 mile run and this time of year if you get caught up there it's quite a trip back.

Like Trev said,that's what makes the difference between experienced fisherman and not, if you were looking at yesterdays currents fff89 and didn't see anywhere to fish you need to seek out help reading a tide table book and i mean that in a nice way,whenever you have strong currents over 1.8 knotts in Victoria and your not comfortable about anchoring in that ,you can always anchor in the many spots to the west of Sooke,infact when the current is right in Vic it can be a little to slow to the west,Todays current in Vic you got a small window from daylight until 10-11 am depending where you want to go.

I know how to read the charts. Thats not an issue. I have just never seen a tide or current table for jordan river. It must be nice to go that far. But im not much into venturing past sherringham.

FFG the guides seem to be forgetting the fact that they run a 25' or + boat.

We use Juan de Fuca West when we get up to Jordan river ,Point no point has its own on big wave dave and of course Sooke ,wasn't slagging you just the way you worded your post seemed a little confused. As for you sammyslabber Iam not forgetting anything not a mind reader on how big his boat is just trying to help out ,if your looking to stir the pot you might want to think twice on that.
