I used to fish off point roberts with my pops when I was a kid- caught lots of cohos and springs- I wonder if thats open and if ok to launch off the tsawassen spit/ fish point roberts these days? Was really thinking about it when wife and I were out crabbing last week- marked lots of fish

Need to look at the area 7 regs: No chinook, hatchery coho only, and yes to sockeye. Fish Washington App for Area 7:

Had a great season so far jigging! All around Texada, Lesqueti. Friday was surprisingly calm, considering all the thunder clouds around. Got skunked one day even though sounder was showing TONS of fish!

If by slack you mean **** poor fishing conditions for coho, I would say for all of 2022 so far.
Boated from Vancouver to point roberts on Friday afternoon. Fished Ambleside enroute got one small coho which I released. Stopped at t 10 for some samples, tons of pinks. Stopped in point roberts and got shutout on sockeye. One line per guy in the water In America so its tough. But my buddies were nailing them.
Saturday morning I went out for sockeye, the area had 30 commercial boats so I crossed to the gulf islands instead. I've never caught so many pinks. With no exaggeration the longest I could keep my lines in the water was 5 minutes. So I took off early. The crossing back was nasty, but from active pass to point roberts is probably the shortest point to cross.,30 minutes. That capped off 7 days in a row of fishing.

Boats seeing fishing that area, seems to be shunned for cheating from other members
