Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

Interesting stuff, not sure this is the right forum for it though.I'd be interested in knowing how many boat buyers (new or used) finance a boat purchase. No one I know has borrowed money to buy a boat (as far as I know),a perk of being old I guess.Bank rates don't affect those that don't borrow.
Same here, all my toys are mine, cash only, never borrow for a toy.i would rather have a 30k boat cash then a 200k boat on a never never plan. I am a cheap ******* too lol, I fish just fine in my 30year boat

Yeah, those vtec Honda combos have barely got me 2500 trouble free hours. Totally unproven.
You and me both, wish we add better dealer service on this side of the border, but so far my 2 Honda are kick butt, god my kicker is a 1992 same as the boat it probably has 100000 hrs on it, been wanting to change it for a few years now and it just won’t die

Yup all older toys but all cash deals and do the job just fine!

Supply and demand is what is going to change. When your (not you, you) house is worth 150K less and your mortgage payment is 600 more, that boat in the driveway (or trailer, or SXS) that you use 4 times a year is the first to go. And once toys have to be sold, prices drop pretty fast. The opposite of fomo happens.

We have had low rates for so long, BOC overnight at 3%+ means 5 years at 6%, variables at 4-5% and boat loans at 7-8%, etc. That 500k mortgage is going to be 600+ more per month.

Anyways, apologies for the doomer derail, last post on this, just wanted to share my perspective. I work for a large NA bank, follow this pretty closely and feel like the market is about to turn over. No idea what the decrease in prices will be but I'm expecting demand to dry up going into next summer.
You’re not wrong

I love centre consoles, this sticker price was a bit of a surprise though.
2009 Jaxon Craft 25. $147,000

Having had just built a new 25 Hardtop I am surprised at the rate of depreciation using our boat's all in build cost and the buyer's asking price for a less expensive and less optioned model.

I would have thought the new price of that boat in 2009 would have been under 100K.

Who am I to judge this crazy market.

Since he just sank 40k into the new motor and any used replacement boat, trailer, nice engine combo over 22 feet will be at least 100k, I can see why he would ask that much. A nicely outfitted 22 aluminum with a cabin is close to 200k now?

Pretty niche boat for someone, likely someone who fishes nootka or Bamfield. I know lots of guys love center console, you just need a Willie Mitchell equivalent aluminum CC lover. I bet there are a few guys calculating welding up a real cabin on her and realizing it's too expensive.

Those fly in lodges are filled with centre consoles. It’s the predominant boat.
