2021 Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

Hopefully our next DFO Minister let’s us fish when the fish are here and does something about all the nets in the Fraser.

“Liberal cabinet minister Bernadette Jordan, a first-term MP for the riding of South Shore-St. Margarets in Nova Scotia, was defeated by the Conservatives’ Rick Perkins, CBC and The Canadian Press project.”

Pinocchio will just appoint another clone to tow the party line of reconciliation and reallocation.....we are screwed!

Had a pretty good day at SH. We started fishing for pinks for the smoker and landed one then 3 sockeye released. Changed up gear and a buddy hooked and landed a 35.6lb buck spring. It was a brute. Also on the way down we bounced off a dead head just south of T-10. Put my first dent in the hull. 1st thought was save the motor. My buddy was excited as it was the biggest spring he has landed. Well bigger than I ever had also. Lol.
Cheers, Rob
beauty how deep you get him at

We were there same time as Marsman was bit bumpy, settled down late afternoon, and we picked up a slab 120-130 cm (cup holder to cup holder is 100 CM on the 120 CM cooler pic) marble mature doe and a 85 cm immature red doe, exact weights unknown, 65 on the rigger , 100-200 yards N of green can in about 150 feet water. Whole 5-6" herring on Pro troll chartreuse glow holders. Was fast trolling for Coho, slowed down and wham, thought we had a seal, wasn't. attachment1632234647077.jpgattachment1632234567432.jpg

a 120cm fish has got to be over 40lbs! fish doesnt look like a 40 whats the girth? do (length x girth squared) \ 800.

Nice fish. But you need a scale. It looks over 30lbs.

My guess was about 25-30 pounds by "feeling them" both were long torpedo shaped does ( I find bucks are taller does are more tubular) , and big enough to make us smile! Did not measure girth, top of cooler is our guide and 62 CM the important number, and weight on those sites with the calculations is dramatically different site to site, so really don't care, are in freezer bags now a headed for the smoker soon! Tagged and bagged legally and above 62 cm is what counts.
