2021 Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

This is the best time of the year i have found, all females have released their eggs and pretty much all jumbo's to be caught, if you hit the right
spots..winter prawns are abundant but mediums.
I need to get out my regular spots and find those hauls!! I did really well a month ago but was running max traps for the spouse and I. Still put them away this week but nothing that exciting!

Hi all. I'm honestly confused with the current regulations are for salmon. I find the website difficult to follow to the point that I wonder if it's intentional. In any case... Is 28-6 open to fish Coho? Looks like a nice day out there so wouldn't mind trying my luck out there with the kids. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It is for hatchery, I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Likely won’t find any coho this time of year but nice to get out on the water at least . Might be a little lumpy out there today .

Had that bad habit also of sticking to regular holes wishing this would be the day, each honey hole will have it's glory months then die on and off.

We fished Puerto cove today. We didn't have very much time. We got there by 9 am. Got a shaker and a pollock by about 1015 am. Then three really nice Springs. About ten pounders, really scrappy fighters. Two hatchery for me on a bright green coho killer. And the other was my dad. Right when he switched from a 4 herring aid to a small sandlance spoon. We forgot to check hatchery or wild. But all all fish popped the pin and took a ton of line. Since about mid April the fishing has been really good around the local waters.

I second your comments about nice fish in the sound. Went out yesterday and caught a 75, 65 and two 50's. 3/4 hatch. All around 100-115 on skinny g or weegee depending on bait in the area.

Not much of a report but on Valdes for the weekend. Weathers good, beers are cold and caught a freshie for tacos. Doesn’t get any better. Doggo’s first time on the boat. Got sea sick crossing and chucked his prawn pellets but keen to hop right back in! Gals are all smiles so life’s good!
