What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Got my electronics installed, very happy with the outcome everything fit as planned. Really like the Hummingbird one boat network really makes it easy to link everything together, it’s idiot proof which is perfect for me. Very happy I went with the Helix 12, sure going to be nice splitting that screen. May look at linking it to my vessel view later on as the Hummingbird G4N’s are NMEA 2000 equipped.

A few pics of the installs.

Garmin 942xs plus and an Airmar TM165HW Transducer waiting to be installed. Can't wait to see Chirp in my boat for the first time.View attachment 62556
You should be able to sign up now for Garmin active captain and enter your serial number then you will get access to your charts on iPad, iphone etc. Plus you can do your updates. We are up to ver 22 now.
You are really going to like this combo. I’d recomend turning off some of the map details. I think it comes with everything turned on and it makes it too cluttered.

I set up Active Captain before I bought the device. I assume in my profile I need to input the SN somewhere. I'll do that this weekend. Thanks for your input..Really looking forward to getting this thing installed and used to fish with.

I got the new 115 out for almost 3 hours of break in today.
Followed Yamaha protocol!

It fired right up. Idle is so quiet that I got back to the boat after parking my truck that I thought it stalled. Nope, just whisper quiet.

gave it an hour at 1000-2000rpm then got it on plane and it held there at 3000-3200rpm for an hour.

Then I went up to 4000 loved it...4500 loved it more... 5000 now she’s going... let’s do this!!!! WOT 5800-5900rpm 42.5 mph.

very loud above 5000 so I’ll probably cruise at 4700 which was like 31-32mph.

feels like a new boat.
I’m beyond happy with it!

this third pic was to get a pic of the jet plane above me, just before I whipped by it at WOT!

Awesome, waiting for some fair weather to get mine out. Meanwhile it sits. I go look at it every day LOL

Today Inlet sent the insurance claim quote out for the new or repaired drive. A cool 20k on top of the original 12k this summer. FML
Here I thought I was going for a little kicker upgrade.

What's 20k cover exactly, a new drive outright? My dps1 was 16,000 all in including a set of brand new stainless f3s...sucks that isn't resolved yet, hope insurance opens the claim. Good luck, chicken is popular AF so there's that.

I'm with you man, can't wait to no longer have an IO too.

This may not look like much but I wanted to reseal around the port side seating doghouse and add an access hatch. It was an epic battle to break the old sikkaflex sealing the fiberglass doghouse to the mounting flanges, which involved finally my floorjack and a 2 x 10 to gently place pressure against the underside over time.

Victory was declared this morning so now to seal it up and assemble with no extra left over parts...

After a crazy couple of weeks/month selling, moving etc finally found time to work on the boat yesterday. Finished installing the blue seas add a battery/acr mini. Cleaned up the rats nest of wiring and re wired a few things, also installed a fuse block.

not the tidiest but a big improvement over what was. Not much room to work under the console either - back is sore

Yeah, I hear you about the tight space and sore back. I was doing similar wiring organization on my boat after installing a larger distribution block. The ACR is a good addition. You are well along to a tidy job. I used a few screw-down cable ties to organize wires out of the block and to restrain them further along. You are likely planning to move the wires doubled up on the terminals to one of the open spots for independant fusing to each wire. Also, just a suggestion, battery boxes with covers are a good idea, too.

Got my kicker motor wired up and steering system installed. New battery, deleted the 2 stroke auto mix system on the big motor and re wired the Dodge trailer plug so I actually have trailer lights. Shake down test tomarrow if the weather is good.

More than a weeks work here.
Lifted motor to replace aluminum trim on transom.
Moved kicker from Stbd. to Port side.
Removed helm sleeper and replaced with Tempress and pedestal.
Replaced old steering wheel.
Complete rewire w/ACR add a battery system.
Added a Genius 2 bank charger.
Made fish box for center hatch (fiberglass).
Replaced dash panel, covered in carbon fiber vinyl.
The rewire was a long battle because I have a torn rotator cuff, being fixed in 2 weeks,so very painful reaching and fastening wiring.
