After the curiosity of a soft spot on the floor of my 16' double eagle, turned out that the floor and stringers were all rotten. Here are some pictures of the progress to date. I just glasses in the new stringers today. A little sanding and another coat of resin tomorrow and I'll be ready to install the floor. Ill post a few more pics as it progresses.

Welcome to the club Steveo.I'm doing the same thing with the same boat as we speak.I'm replacing my stringers with
laminated plywood and epoxy resin this time around. It's such a dirty, itchy frickin' job I never want to do it again in my lifetime,so going overkill on everything. When I get the materials and construction process going I'll post a few pictures
myself.Looks good so far for you with the dusty itchy part out of the way.Good luck and hope you're back on the water soon!

Get yourself a disposable sanding suit. They are only about $6 at industrial plastics. Comes with built in booties and a hood. Best $6 I ever spent.

Progress over the weekend. Got the floor cut and installed. Sikaflex and screwed in. Partially filled the cracks and holes until I ran out of resin and filler. It's coming along.

Good job Steveo.Going to be ordering a second batch of resin myself fairly quickly here. How much resin have you gone through so far,if you don't mind me asking?

A gallon and change so far. That matting sure sucked it up fast.

Got to some fibreglassing this weekend. 6oz e-glass. Glassing should be done tomorrow.

image.jpeg image.jpeg If you're wondering what to do after you complete the floor installation - this may give you an idea for an option of finishing it other than by using paint. I've also been completely rebuilding a DE - after I got the floor biscuit joined, glued and screwed down - and then replaced all that old Harvest Gold gel-coat with white gel-coat - I had the floor and the insides of the hull sprayed with coloured Rhino Liner. They can match any color with this stuff nowadays. Cheers!

Nice looking work there stephen.I like the idea of the round deck plate.I'll be putting in a couple of these in my
new floor as well so I can open them out to allow some air circulation under the floor when not in use.

Looks great. I just gelcoated the floor and started putting her back together to get fishing. I'm not sold on the grey. This winter i am planning to gelcoat the whole inside.
