I agree that the sporties are likely not the main culprit in the loss of Pacific stocks, and I am also aware of the powerful lobbying power of the commercial fleet. ( I work in that sector).
Now everyone is going to sit around and point fingers at each other - FN, Commercial, sporties, aquaculture like a bunch of children.
The point is we all have respond to the problem and participate in the solution. I personally don't believe the sportfishing sector is more responsible for the salmon decline than commercial fishing and FN netting, but we have to be part of the solution whether we like it or not.
I talk to the local FN about their piece counts as well as witness many commercial offloads. I am very aware.
