using an old anchor puller motor as a pot puller

I have an old electric anchor puller that I have never used. when I got the boat I switched to using the ring and Scotsman. wondering if anyone has used an old anchor puller as a pot puller? its right up in the bow but was thinking it would do the trick. the pulley on it isn't ideal and cant really be swapped out. I was thinking maybe drill a pulley more suited for rope to the side of the existing pulley? we pull our crab pots by hand which isn't too bad but were thinking of trying our hand at prawns this year on the west side of the charlottes. would it be worth the trouble rigging up the old anchor puller or is there another way other than hand bombing them? would the ring and Scotsman work somehow?

Ring and scotchman is good.. Even better is a snatch block on the scotchman... Anchor puller is so slow... But then again, you may be retired and have nothin better to do than watch rope.
