The other day we saw a trawler at the T-10. He was running as far as Sandheads and back again. Also, he was fishing much closer to shore than us sporties. Is this the last one, does anyone have info on this boat?

Aluminum boat without poles? Then that's a commercial CRABBER.
Otherwise, if it was a commercial troller, he'd have poles, he's a test fishery...looking for Sox and Springs...

Trawlers drag heavy nets for shrimp, bottomfish, or sometimes midwater for fish like hake. Trollers do what we do, but with way more hooks. Which was it? If it was a lone troller, he was probably doing a test fishery to see if the numbers support opening the Gulf to other trollers. Pinks??

O.K. this boat was a troller with poles,it had lines out and planer boards.
