Hey guys, Im heading to Tofino 1st week of Aug. I know there is still some time but i would like a few pointer on hali fishing out there. I have never really fished for them. Rigs, bait, and some spots not looking for anyones secert hole. Any help would be great.

A lot of guys travel offshore to the banks and troll on the bottom for halibut, you are likely to get a by-catch of Springs too.

Closer in, try off of Lennard Island or Portland Point. Also there use to be great halibut fishing on the west side of Cleland Island. This island is a bird sanctuary just South West of Blunden Island, I fished live cod in that area back in the late 80s.
