Sooke RCA

I know there's a Rockfish Conservation Area in front of Sooke, but never bothered to look it up. I don't chase bottom fish myself, but I get asked sometimes. Curious to know where it actually is.

It looks to me that it follows the 10 fathom line...so approximately 60-80 foot depth, deeper in the trailer park area. Anyone who has actually GPS'ed it, got any guidelines to follow? eg "stay deeper than x feet and you'll be legal".

Also avoid the Fraser to little bedford islands in Beecher bay. I see lots of boat crowding over there.

When fishing close to RCA's I usually input the GPS coordinates that DFO provides, and mark a course between each coordinate. Then you have it precisely drawn on your GPS, takes the guessing out of things.

Thx for the post.. I was thinking of throwing some spoons and spinners this fall for coho along there.. Looks so good.
