This event is a annual fundraiser for South Vancouver Island Anglers Coalition’s Chinook sea pen enhancement projects and angling advocacy work

The Salish Sea Salmon Challenge is a one-day fun salmon fishing derby hosted by South Vancouver Island Anglers Coalition. The event will be held on Saturday September 2nd, 2023 with fishing times between 5:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The derby headquarters and sole weigh scale will be located at Cheanuh Marina. Due to the popularity of this event in 2022 and positive feed back from event participants, the SVIAC Event Team anticipate this 2023 SSSC derby will be larger and the prize pool will be biggest yet. If true, the Largest Salmon Prize and Random Draw Prize should easily exceed $3,000 – if 200 rod tickets are sold the prizes will reach $4,000 each

Derby looked well attended and many fish caught! Here is a pic of the winning fish 34.1 lbs. worth almost $5K to the lucky lady angler!
