Note that the stop trigger on the Scotty is all mechanical; as the line is retrieved, the red plastic bead hits the trigger and stops the motor. So anything that is big enough to bump into the trigger will work. Tried the Scotty red/orange beads "for braided line" with and without super glue, works for awhile then fails when the glue fails. Switched to a swivel a little larger in diameter than the bead, making sure it still passes through the pulley housing and have not had any more issues. Of course, the connection is only as good as your knots on the swivel, I use the Palomar without issues. The only disadvantage with this system is that you cannot just slide the swivel up or down if you need to change the stopping point.
