Restore habitat protection in Canada’s Fisheries Act now

Take Action
We support the immediate reinstatement of strong habitat protection into Canada’s Fisheries Act that was removed without consulting Indigenous peoples, scientific evidence or public participation. We call on the government to bring back habitat protection so that the Act says: “No person shall carry on any work, undertaking or activity that results in the harmful alteration, disruption or destruction (HADD) of fish habitat.”

Waste of time sorry. Been fighting it for last year with a very succesful vancouver island coho run. Direct evidence and everything. The liberal government has no intention of reversing it. Wish you luck on that.

yeah, but i'll (and others) keep trying. i agree, our governments and certain corporations couldn't give a flying ..... it's really sad since we live in a province that is so distinctly different environmentally and ecologically than many others. yet our government and industry still tends to treat it like a cesspool or garbage dump... as long as there's a dollar to be made. one can always hope for change. but that's all it seems to be now. hope...
